S.P of gold bought by archana= Rs.32376

Tax = 14%

Let,

M.P of gold = Rs. x

 \rightarrow \:  \frac{14}{100 }  \:  \times x

 \rightarrow \:  \frac{7x}{50}

 \therefore \:   Rs.x  +  \frac{Rs. \: 7x}{50}  = 32376

 \frac{50x}{7x}  = 32376

 \frac{57x}{50}  = 32376

x =  \frac{32376 \times 50}{57}

 = 568 \times 50

 = 28400

The government needs a lot of money to build schools, colleges, hospitals, etc., for the Welfare of the public. So, the government imposes different taxes, Example : Income Tax (IT), Sales Tax , Service Tax , Value Added Tax (VAT) etc. Many of these taxes have been merged to form a tax called Goods and Services Tax (GST) already introduced in India on 1st July 2017.
