The most important building material used by Shahjahan was white marble. He constructed the Lal Quila or the Red Fort. There are notable buildings inside like Diwan-I-Am,Diwan-i-Khas ,and Rang Mahal .The Agra Fort was built by Shahjahan in white marble with black marble calligraphy. He constructed the Jama Masjid which is the biggest masjid of its kind in India. The Taj Mahal is undoubtedly Shahjahan’s grandest and the most well known project. Akbar used red sandstone as a major part of architecture whereas Shahajahan used white marble.
