Are (a+45)° & (45-a)° complementary angles? Why?

(a + 45)° + (45 - a)° = 45 + 45 = 90°.

Since we can see that the sum of (a+45)° & (45-a)° gives total of 90 degrees. Therefore, they are complementary angles.

LHS = (a + 45) + (45 – a)

       = a + 45 + 45 – a

       = 90

       = RHS
