But, don't get fooled into thinking thatall physical changes are irreversible. In fact, many physical changes can be reversed. Remember that when a substance changes physically, it is still the same substance, just in a different form. Water turning into ice is a great example of a reversible physicalchange.

Some physical changes are reversible and some are not.

If you freeze water, that’s a physical change. It’s still water but it’s changed form from liquid to solid. You can reverse the physical change by letting the solid ice melt, and it returns to liquid.

If you cut a limb off a tree, that’s a physical change, but it wouldn’t be easy to reverse the change. If you crack a raw egg, that’s a physical change that would not be likely to be reversed.

Most chemical changes are irreversible.
