Only compounds forned by transfer of electrons from a metal and a non metal are ionic compounds. They have strong forces of attraction than covalent compounds.

Anonymous: I think this would help u
Dharish1414: how is this a better answer?
Anonymous: Then wat should I answer?
Dharish1414: u should explain the existence of co-valent compounds
Anonymous: I had explained about covalent compounds. Covalent compounds are formed by sharing of electrons between 2 non metals. Is this ok.
