An asexually reproduced offspring is likely to be genetically identical to the parent.

For eg: Amoeba reproduces by binary fission, in which it divides itself into a new individual(amoeba).In that process amoeba gives the individual nucleus, chromosomes,etc., needed for a fully grown adult.
