YESS BACTERIOPHAGES ARE USED TO PURIFY GANGA WATER.

It's not the 'bacteria' which is responsible of the purity of river Ganga, but a virus, known as Bacteriophage (a virus which infects bacteria) which is said to be present in Ganga.

This infects and kills bacteria, which makes Ganga antibacterial.
