Are bears afraid of humans?
Answers
Answer:
Explanation:
Bears are not afraid of people, in fact, they aren't afraid of anything. In the case of bears, especially grizzlies, who have had little or no contact with humans, they see us as smaller, weaker, and victims. Often, grizzlies will actually stalk humans in the wild looking for a chance to attack. In more remote areas, such as Alaska, grizzly hunters sometimes discover the bear they've been stalking is now stalking THEM.
Some bears, especially those who have had previous contact with humans, become *cautious* of them, but they still aren't really afraid of you. This is why they will come into your campsite looking for food if they smell that you've left it available, and handy to them. If they were truly *afraid* of humans they wouldn't even try it, no more than a squirrel is going to try and raid your food bag if you're around. Bears are definitely dangerous on several levels, and a wounded bear, if it sees a human, will charge that person without hesitation, and at a full run.
hope it helps!!!
