Collenchyma is a highly specialised supporting tissue. It is mainly present in stems, leaves,floral parts and is the main supporting tissue in many mature eudicot leaves and some green stems.

Roots rarely have Collenchyma but Collenchyma may occur in cortex of root if root is exposed to light.
