The process of spinning threads for cotton and silk are different.
EXPLANATION:
It is in reality based on the material strength, structure, tensile strength and quality. Cotton is spun by combining small length fiber threads in DI or Tri helix form to form long and stronger threads whereas silk threads are made by carefully boiling off the cocoon of the silk worm into long strands without breaking and spinning them in long threads. The weaving process is like in both instances, but as cotton have a high tensile strength the weaving speed can be maintained at higher speed but due to the fragile nature and less tensile strength of silk threads weaving is performed at a lower velocity.
