■ Actually welcome to the concept of the ESTERS
■ Basically the Esterification reaction is the reaction in which the
■ ALCOHOLS REACTS WITH THE CARBOXYLIC ACIDS IN PRESENCE OF THE SULPHURIC ACID , SUCH TO FORM..
■ A sweet smelling compounds called as the Esters...
■ Basically the esters are used in the Food industries and the perfume industries for the AROMATIC SMELL
■ SAPONIFICATION..
■ Now actually move towards the Reverse reaction , that is
■ treatment of the Esters in the presence of a strong Alkaline medium like the NAOH to form a SODIUM SALT OF CARBOXYLIC ACIDS is called as the Saponification reaction. .
■ Now basically this reaction is carried out to make the soaps and detergents that are biodegradable in nature
■ Thus both the reactions are different in behaviour and Their industrial uses.
