Professor Gaitonde and Gangadhar Pant, two different names refer to the same person, Professor Gaitonde. Professor Gaitonde becomes Gangadhar Pant when he experiences a different time dimension. Professor Gaitonde as Gangadhar Pant experiences a totally different India and history. When he comes out of that experience, Professor Deshpane tries to give scientific explanation to that unique occurrence.
