Are humans devoids of humanity? write an article

Despite the majority of news reports being negative, humans are inherently full of humanity. However caught up in a mad rush, people have not taken the time to show humanity. Now however, in the time of adversity and lockdowns, humans have made an effort to to help others through donations, volunteering and general kindness.
As the nation comes together to fight the pandemic funds are running low. This is where people have stepped in with donations made to local bodies, neighbourhood temples and even in the form of salaries given out to domestic helps who have not been able to come to work.
Additionally, despite the highly contagious nature of the pandemic many people are coming to the fore to volunteer. For instance, many senior citizens living all by themselves are being urged to stay home. Youth volunteer groups are home delivering articles of need to such citizens. Similarly many people are volunteering and putting up stalls of food to be served to the underprivileged who do not have any source of income or food security at this point.
Yet another example is that of people thinking beyond themselves and taking care of strays. People specially make extra food for stray animals during each meal and leave it outside the gates. Similarly, a simple but humane gesture is filling bird baths with water and leaving them out during the summers, so that birds have a source of water available.
Such acts of humanity may or may not get media attention. However the fact remains that humanity is not dead. Infact, humans only need to take the time to do a good deed.
