Answer:-

Your Answer is ) 2x + 3y = 20 m.

Explanation:-

Given:-

  • Length and breadth of a rectangle are in ratio 2:3.

  • Perimeter of the rectangle is 20 m.

And we have Express this in the form of linear equation in 2 veriables.

Formula Used:-

Perimeter of a rectangle,

= 2(Length + Breadth).

Now,

Since it is given that length and breadth of the rectangle are in ratio 2:3.

So let the length and breadth be 2x and 3y respectively.

Therefore,

By putting the values in formula we get:-

↦ 2 (Length + Breadth) = Perimeter.

↦ 2 (2x + 3y) = 20 m.

↦ 2(2x) + 2(3y) = 20 m.

↦ 4x + 6y = 20 m.

Which is the required linear equation in two veriables.

Graph:-

Values of graph are given below and graph is in the attachment.

When x = -1.

↦ 4x + 6y = 20.

↦ 4(-1) + 6y = 20.

↦ -4 + 6y = 20.

↦ 6y = 24.

↦ y = 20/6.

y = 4.

When x = 2.

↦ 4(2) + 6y = 20.

↦ 6y = 12.

↦ y = 12/6.

↦ y = 2.

When x = 5.

↦ 4(5) + 6y = 20 .

↦ 20 + 6y = 20.

↦ 6y = 0.

↦ y = 0.

So the coordinates on graph will be,

  • (-1, 4)
  • (2, 2)
  • (5,0)

[At the top left corner of graph coordinates are (-1,4)]
