The light falls normally on a face of glass slab what are the values of angel s of incidence and angle of refraction sethu law of refraction for the same angle of incidence is 45 degree angle of refraction in to transfer in media I and II is 20 and 30 degree. Out of which, the medium is optically denser and why?

From I and II the optically denser one and the reason is given below.

  • Lower the angle of refraction, which means  it will attracted toward the normal. Higher the angle of refraction , it will move away from the normal.
  • The denser of the medium property is also define by the the angle of refraction.
  • Lesser the angle then less dense will be the medium.
  • So the media I is less denser than the media II, as the angle of refraction is 20 degree which is less than 30 degree angle and therefore it will move toward the normal
