Given :  q2, d5, and p50

To Find : are all these equal

Solution:

q representing quartile ( data divided in 4 equal part )

d representing decile ( Data divided in 10 equal parts)

p = percentile   ( data divided in percentage )

q1 = lower Quartile  = p25   ( 1/4 of data )

q2 = Median = p50   = (1/2 of Data)   = 5 deciles

q3 = upper quartile = p75  ( 3/4 of Data)

d5 =  p50  = q2

Yes , d5 =  p50  = q2  are equal

The lower quartile Q₁ , or the first quartile, is the median of the lower half of the data in a set.

The upper quartile Q₃, or the third quartile, is the median of the upper half of the data in a set.

Median is the middle element or the mean of two middle elements in a numerical data set with the elements ordered by their value. or also called Q₂  ( 2nd Quartile )
