Some resources being wasted in my society:

• Lights on when there is sufficient daylight.
• Doors and windows open allowing heat (cool air) to escape.
• Computers left on 24hours per day seven days a week.
• Machines left running when not in use.

The direct environmental impacts of resource use include the degradation of fertile land, water shortages, waste generation, toxic pollution, and biodiversity loss in terrestrial and freshwater ecosystems.The nutrients in the food never return to the soil. The wasted food rots and produces methane gas. Save Resources – Wasted food wastes the water, gasoline, energy, labor, pesticides, land, and fertilizers used to make the food. When we throw food in the trash, we're throwing away much more than food.
