Yes....all students are free to choose standard or Basic maths

If u want to plan a future in which maths is not important, then you can take basic but if u want to take science or commerce ,then its mandatory to choose standard maths

This is according to the guidelines of CBSE...but if ur schl is not asking u and if u ask and they tell that there is no option or they force u to take a specific category...then u can complain against ur school

Note : The same book will be followed but the level of qs will be much easier
