Explanation:

Cultivation in plains:::

♥ They provide rich alluvial soils which are very good for cultivating different crops. ii. Plains are more fit for the cultivation of crops as they are suitable for diverse farming

Cultivation in hilly areas ::::

♥ The major benefit, of course, is the conservation of soil and water. Terraces reduce both the amount and velocity of water moving across the soil surface, which greatly reduces soil erosion. Terracing thus permits more intensive cropping than would otherwise be possible

Answer:

The basic difference between them is the farming pattern and farming system.

Agriculture in plains is easy. Basic operations like tillage, weeding, sowing application of fertilizers as compared to hilly is very easy.

In plains various farming systems can be carried out like check basin, border, inter cropping etc.

The period involved are normally kharif , rabi and zaid, less time involving.

In hilly areas most of the operations face difficulties.

Terrace farming, Contour farming can only be carried out.

Most of the crops preferred are horticultural crops ex pomegranate, ber, tea.

Farming system depends on the profile of the soil.
