Are the sex chromosomes (for humans X and Y ) expressed in all somatic cells? Or just those cells of organs that are related somehow to sexual phenotype (primary and secondary sexual characteristics)?

Explanation:
All somatic cells have the expression
of XX in case of females or
XY in case of males.
In germ cells in case of females it would
be only one X in all germ cells because it
is haploid.
in case of males it would be either
X or Y in one germ cell as it is also a
haploid.
hope it helps you
