Are the ultrasonic waves electromagnetic waves? Why?

Electromagnetic waves are not mechanical/acoustic/sonic waves. They are transverse in nature and do not need a medium to travel across. Ultrasonic waves are different from normal sound(longitudinal) waves in terms of frequency. They are still mechanical but have higher frequencies than audible spectrum(20Hz-20kHz).
