Are there cavys in the Sahara desert?

Cavys are native to the American continent. I don't think there are any in the Sahara. However, you'll find some succulents that look like cacti, but those are most probably Euphorbia or other species.

There are certain canvys present in the Sahara desert but scorching heat of Sahara desert is too much for a canvy.
