It is often ask if there are gods in Buddhism. The short answer is no, but also yes, depending on what you mean by "gods". Vajrayana Buddhism still makes use of tantric dieties in its esoteric practices. And there are Buddhists who believe devotion to Amitabha Buddha will bring them to rebirth in the Pure land.

In the real sense of the philosophy of Buddhism, we cannot claim there are deities. Buddhism originated from India but India has the least numbers of Buddhists in comparison to the countries it spread to, Shri Lanka, Bhutan, Tibet, China, etc. Buddhism too differ from place to place.
