Squaring both the sides

(cosa + sina )^2 = (√2cos)^2
cos^2a + sin^2a + 2cosa sina = 2cos^2a

sin^2a + 2cosa sina = cos^2a
2cosa sina = cos^2a - sin^2a

2cosa sina = (cosa + sina)( cosa - sina)

2cosa = √2cosa ( cosa - sina)
2cosa/√2cosa = cosa - sina

✔ √2 cosa = cosa - sina

SinФ = CosФ (√2-1)

Now,

Multiplying by (√2+1) on both the sides.

Sin (√2+1) = CosФ(√2-1)(√2+1)

√2 SinФ + SinФ = CosФ(2-1)

CosФ - SinФ= √2 SinФ
