Answer:

Declaring that we haven't done anything for our world, is rather false. Treaties like Kyoto Protocol have been signed by numerous nations to reduce carbon emissions. CFCs that cause global warming and ozone depletion, have been banned worldwide.

Explanation:

There is a lot of talk about Global warming and destruction to the environment caused by pollution. Communities are promoting all kinds of things like use less plastic, use less petrol, do not use plastic carry bags, plant more trees etc. Do you think such messages are being taken seriously by the public? when was the last time you planted a tree or decided to walk to your office instead of using your car to lessen pollution and to save the environment? I know most people will say that they did not do these things, they do not have time etc. It seems that people are not interested in saving the planet and the environment and that all public messages to save the environment are going unnoticed? Don't you think so? If no can you say what simple things you practice to care for the environment?

Your title of the message gives just the opposite meaning of what you have written in the message. Kindly change the title making it a question in this way : "Are people doing enough to save our planet?"

People do not seem to be doing enough to save our planet. They are only paying a lip service to the slogan "Save our planet". There are large climatic changes being noticed all over the world. We don't plant enough trees. A tree needs a lot of time to grow, but it takes only a few minutes to cut them. Instead of letting the trees grow in enough numbers, we are ready to cut them for our several needs of timber and fuel wood. We keep on lights and our electrical appliances on even when they are required to be switched off. We make use of petrol and diesel resources ruthlessly. Even where the distance can be covered by a small walk, we need a vehicle. Plastic bags are banned hardly in a few municipalities.

The minimum thing we can do to save our earth is that, we must carry a small cloth bag while going for purchasing vegetables and food materials. This will avoid the use of plastic carry bags, which cause pollution in the environment. Next, try to use of cycle for some distances, which will keep us fit and save some fossil fuel. Next, we can use public transport in spite of using private vehicles. This also help us to decrease the pollution and the traffic on the road.

We are adept in criticizing the Government and the authorities but inept when it comes to social responsibilities. Remember that the Constitution has guaranteed us with certain rights and has at the same time placed on us certain responsibilities too. We cry foul when any of our rights are violated but are least bothered about fulfilling our responsibilities. Article 51A(g) says that it shall be the duty of every citizen of India to protect and improve the natural environment including forests, lakes, rivers and wild life, and to have compassion for living creatures. Other than making organizations and giving sermons, do we do anything for the conservation of environment?

From the use of plastic to conservation of energy we least bothered, as if we have got nothing to do with it.
