Heya!!!!☺
<>No, they are not the same thing. But they both are the components of the blood..
<>Blood has four main components: plasma, red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets.
White blood cells:
∆ Come in many different types (neutrophils, eosinophils, basophils, monocytes, lymphocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells)
∆ Mainly are used to fight infection
∆ Are irregularly shaped
∆ Are surrounded by a white "buffy coat" (hence the name)
∆ Make up less than 1% of blood.
Platelets
∆They are small fragments of cellular material in the blood.
∆ They originate by splitting off from large cells in the bone marrow.
∆ They are necessary for the process of clotting when blood vessels are damaged, both by providing crucial chemical substances and by physically plugging the hole .
Hope this helps u ☺
