NO, THE WOMEN'S ARE NOT EMPOWERED IN OUR SOCIETY.
IN THOSE DAYS WOMEN'S NEVER HAD ANY SOCIAL IMPORTANCE. THEY WERE NOT CONSIDERED TO BE ON THE FRONT LINE OF ANYWHERE. THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO BE HOME-BOUND AND TO BE BUSY WITH HER HUSBAND AND KIDS THE OTHER HOUSEHOLD. SO, IT IS VERY DIFFICULT FOR WOMEN TO RULE.

yes women are empowered in our society. We can prove by putting up following points:
1.women like Saina Nehwal, Deepika Padukone and many more are proving themselves in front of world to represent India as a whole.
2.Today literacy rate in india is 74.04% and the literacy rate of girls is 65.46% which is far more than the decades back.
3.Certain changes have also been made in the Constitution of India. Woman has been given the right to divorce under certain circumstances in the modified Hindu Marriage Act.
4.As of 2014, women made up 3% of Indian Army personnel, 2.8% of Navy personnel, and 8.5% of Air Force personnel. As of 2016, women accounted for 5% of all active and reserve Indian Armed forces personnel.
5.Rate of Female foeticide in India is decresed with a high steep.
6.One of the most famous female business success stories is the Shri Mahila Griha Udyog Lijjat Papad. In 2006, Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, who founded Biocon, one of India's first biotech companies, was rated India's richest woman. Lalita D. Gupte and Kalpana Morparia were the only businesswomen in India who made the list of the Forbes World's Most Powerful Women in 2006. It launched several schemes for the welfare of women and children such as the Rajiv Gandhi Scheme for Empowerment of Adolescent Girls (RGSEAG), Indira Gandhi Matritva Sahyog Yojana (IGMSY) and the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Scheme etc.
