Xylem and Phloem are very complex.

This is so because they are made of different cells and have different roles to play.

Xylem is made of tracheids.

They transport water and minerals upwards. Phloem is made of sieve tubes.

They transport food to all parts.

Therefore they are homogeneous in nature.
