\huge\color{red}\boxed{AnSwEr}

35y² + 13y - 12

35y² + 28y - 15y - 12

7y[5y + 4]-3[5y + 4]

(7y - 3)(5y + 4)

then from here y = +3/7 or y = -4/5

as we know aera cannot be -ve so y = +3/7 is value

which = 0.428

\large\color{magenta}\boxed{explanation}

  • we have to do factorisaton of given number

  • we do factorisaton by middle term splitting

  • ie we splite mid term into factors of products of let and first number

  • after factorise we get two values of y but one is -ve and area can't be -ve so we take +ve value

\huge\color{pink}\boxed{extrainfo}

you could solve this by using quadratic formula which is

  \frac{ - b \: ±  \sqrt{ {b}^{2} - 4(a)(c) } }{ 2a}

where a = 35 b = 13 and c =-12

only use for equation which has highest power 2

hope it helps you
