And Rahul's present age be y years

x= y+3 (equation 1)
Six years ago
Riya's age was=(x-6) years
Rahul's age was= (y-6) years
ATQ
(x-6)= 4(y-6)
x-6= 4y-24
x-4y= -18 (equation 2)
From equation 1
Putting value of x in equation 2
(y+3)-4y= -18
-3y= -15
y=5
Putting value of y in equation 1
x=y+3
x=5+3
x=8
Therefore present age of Riya = 8 years
Present age of Rahul= 5 years
