Answer:

The length of BD is 16 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Given area of a quadrilateral ABCD is 20cm^2 and perpendicular on BD from opposite vertices are 1 cm and 1.5 cm.we have to find the length of BD.

area of quadrilateral ABCD = ar(ΔABD)+ar(ΔBCD)

                                              (\frac{1}{2}\times base BD\times height AO)+(\frac{1}{2}\times base BD\times height CO)

                                             = (\frac{1}{2}\times BD\times 1.5)+(\frac{1}{2}\times base BD\times 1)

                                             = \frac{1}{2}\times BD(1.5+1)

                                             = \frac{1}{2}\times BD\times 2.5

But the area of quadrilateral is  20cm^2

\frac{1}{2}\times BD\times 2.5=20cm^2

BD=16 cm
