Area of a rectangle is 180sqcm and it's breath is 12cm find its diagonal And it's length.​

Answer:

Area of a rectangle = length × breadth

                           180 = (12)× l

                             l     = 180/12

                     length   = 15

now we need to find the diagonal.

imagine the diagonal of a rectangle devides it into two equal right triangles

ie, length hypotenuse of triangle formed by diagonal  =   length of diagonal

we can see that when we consider diagonal as hypotenuse breadth and length became base and hight.                                        

(hypotenuse)^2 = (base)^2 + (height)^2

                          = 12^{2}+15^{2}  

                          = 144 + 225

                          = 369

  hypotenuse    = \sqrt{369}

hence diagonal of rectangle = \sqrt{369} = 19.2093727123
