Given :

  • Area of Plot = 6400 sq metres
  • Cost of fencing = Rs.1.50

To find :

  • the cost of fencing the plot at Rs.1.50

Solution :

⇒ Let's find the Side of the plot to find the Perimeter.

Area of Plot = s × s

   6400 m² = s × s

          Side = √6400

                   = 80 m

⇒ Now, let's find the Perimeter.

Perimeter = 4 × s

                 = 4 × 80

                 = 320 m

⇒ Since we have found the perimeter. We can find the cost of fencing the plot.

Cost of Fencing Plot = 320 × 1.50

                                  = ₹480

  • Therefore, the cost of fencing the plot is ₹480.

\odot Here we have given that the area of the plot is 6400 m². As we known that to find the cost of fencing the plot we need perimeter and to find the perimeter of the square plot we need side of the square. so firstly we will find out the side of the square plot.

 \odot After finding the side we will find out the perimeter of the square plot by substituting the side of the square plot in the formula ( Perimeter of the square = 4 × side )

\odot After finding the perimeter of the square we will find out the cost of fencing the plot at  ₹ 1.50 .

\underline{\underline{\sf{\maltese\:Formula\:Used\::-}}}

  • Area of the square plot = s × s

  • Perimeter of the square plot = 4 × s

  • The cost of fencing = 1.50 × perimeter of the square

\bigstar Let us find out the side of the square plot by substituting the area of the square plot in the formula [ Area of the square plot = ( side )² ]

\qquad\sf{:\implies\:Area\:of\:the\:square\:plot\:=\:(\:Side\:)^{2}}

\qquad\sf{:\implies\:6400\:\:=\:(\:Side\:)^{2}}

\qquad\sf{:\implies\:Side\:=\:\sqrt{6400} }

\qquad\sf{:\implies\:Side\:=\:80\:m}

  • Hence the side of the square plot is 80 m.

\bigstar Let us find out the perimeter of the square plot by the product of the 4 and the side of the square plot.

\qquad\sf{:\implies\:Perimeter\:of\:the\:square\:plot\:=\:4\:\times\:side}

\qquad\sf{:\implies\:Perimeter\:of\:the\:square\:plot\:=\:4\:\times\:80}

\qquad\sf{:\implies\:Perimeter\:of\:the\:square\:plot\:=\:320\:m}

  • Hence the perimeter of the square plot is 320 m.

\bigstar Let us find out the cost of the fencing plot at ₹ 1.50 per meter by the product of the fencing per meter by the perimeter of the square.

\qquad\sf{:\implies\:Cost\:of\:fencing\:plot\:=\:Perimeter\:of\:square\:\times\:1.50}

\qquad\sf{:\implies\:Cost\:of\:fencing\:plot\:=\:320\:\times\:1.50}

\qquad\sf{:\implies\:Cost\:of\:fencing\:plot\:=\:Rs.\:480}

  • Hence the cost of fencing the plot at ₹1.50 per meter is ₹480 .
