Let the length of the other parallel side of the given trapezium be x cm

⇒ 850 = 1/2 * (64 + x) * 17

⇒ 850 * 2 = 17 * (64 + x)

⇒ 1700 = 1088 + 17x

⇒ 17x = 1700 - 1088

⇒ 17x = 612

⇒ x = 612/17

⇒ x = 36

∴ the length of the parallel side is 36 cm
