Given,

  • Area of smaller triangle  = 4
  • Area of larger triangle = 5

Let,

  • Height of smaller triangle = h
  • Height of larger triangle = H
  • Base of smaller triangle = b
  • Base of larger triangle = B

Here,

  • Height of smaller triangle = Height of larger triangle = H

We know,

\huge{\boxed{\sf{Area=\dfrac{1}{2} \times b \times h}}}

\sf{\implies \dfrac{{\dfrac{1}{2}\times H\times b}}{\dfrac{1}{2}\times H\times B}=\dfrac{4}{5}}

\sf{\implies \dfrac{8}{B}=\dfrac{4}{5}}

\sf{\implies B=\dfrac{8\times 5}{4}}

\sf{\implies B=\dfrac{40}{4}}

\sf{\implies B=10 \ cm}

\boxed{\sf{\therefore \ Base \ of  \ larger \ triangle =10 \ cm}}
