A = 1/2 × b × h

280 = 1/2 × 70 × h

= 280/35 = h

= 8 cm = h

Hence altitude is 8cm

Given:

Area of a triangle is 280 cm

To find:

corresponding altitude

Solution:

We know that

 =  > Area  \: of  \: Triangle =  \frac{1}{2}  \times base \times altitude

 =  > 280 =  \frac{1}{2} \times 70 \times altitude

 =  > 280 = 35 \times altitude

 =  >  \frac{280}{35}  = altitude

 =  > 35 = altitude

Hence Altitude of triangle is 35cm
