area of triangle=(base×altitude)/2

(70×altitude)/2=280

35×altitude=280

altitude=280/35

altitude=8cm

area of a triangle = 280 cm2

also we know that

area of a triangle = 1/2 × base × altitude

so

280 = 1/2 × 70 × h where h is the altitude.

therefore

h = 8 cm

Hence the altitude the given triangle comes out to be 8 cm.
