Answer :

The height of the room = 10 cm

Given :

• Area of four walls = 2400 cm²

• Perimeter of the room = 240 cm

To find :

• Height of the room

Concept :

  • Formula to find area of four walls = 2(l + b)h
  • Formula to find the perimeter = 2(l + b)

where,

• l denotes the length

• b denotes the breadth

• h denotes the height

We have the values of area of four walls and the perimeter. So, substitute the given values in the formula of area of four walls. After doing the required calculation we will get the value of height.

Solution :

Using formula,

Area of four walls = 2(l + b)h

Substituting the given values :-

→ 2400 = 240 × h

→ Transposing 240 to the left hand side :

→ 2400 ÷ 240 = h

→ 10 = h

The value of h = 10

Therefore,

  • The height of the room = 10 cm

Verification :-

We can verify the value of the height of the room by calculating the area of four walls if the resultant value will be equal to 2400 cm² (as mentioned in the question) then the value of 'h' is right.

Let's do it ::

→ Area of four walls = 2(l + b)h

→ Area of four walls = 240 × 10

→ Area of four walls = 2400

• Area of four walls = 2400 cm²

Hence, verified.
