hence area of hexagon

$= 6 \times \frac{ \sqrt{3} }{4} {x}^{2}$

$= > 6 \times \frac{ \sqrt{3} }{4} {8}^{2} \\ = > 96 \sqrt{3}$

and the area of rectangle is 12*4=48

total area

$= 96 \sqrt{3} + 48$
