or, (length × breadth) = 35

or, (x + 2) × x =35

or, x²+2x = 35

or, x²+2x-35 = 0

or, x²+(7-5)x-35 = 0

or, x²+7x-5x-35 = 0

or, x(x+7)-5(x+7) = 0

or, (x+7)(x-5) = 0

Either, or,

x+7 = 0. x-5 = 0

or, x = -7. or, x = 5

which is not

possible.

So, the breadth is x = 5 cm

the length is (x+2) = (5+2) = 7 cm
