Given data :

  • Area of rhombus is 48 cm².
  • The length of one diagonal is 12 cm.

To find :

  • The length of the other diagonal ?

Solution :

  • we know that diagonal of rhombus, bisect each other at right angle ( 90° ).

  • we also know that all sides of rhombus are equal ( of equal length ).

Now, according to figure and given,

Assume that ABCD is a rhombus

Let, diagonal of rhombus

BD = 12 cm and AC = ? cm

Now, we use, formula of area of rhombus

→ Area of rhombus = {product of diagonals}/2

→ Area of rhombus = { BD * AC }/2

→ 48 = { BD * AC }/2

→ 48 * 2 = 12 * AC

→ 96 = 12 * AC

→ AC = 96/12

→ AC = 8 cm

Answer : Hence, length of other diagonal is 8 cm.
