Area of sector is  \bf 52  \frac{8}{21}  \:cm^2

Option (b) is correct.

Given:

  • A sector of angle 60° of a circle with radius 10 cm.

To find:

  • Find the area of sector.

Solution:

Formula to be used:

Area of sector:\bf \frac{ \theta}{360}  \times \pi \:  {r}^{2}  \\

here,

theta is angle of sector and r is radius.

Step 1:

Write the given values.

 \theta = 60^{\circ}

r = 10 \: cm \\

Step 2:

Put the values in formula.

Area  =  \frac{60}{360}  \times  \frac{22}{7}   \times ( {10)}^{2}  \\

or

Area  =  \frac{1}{6}  \times  \frac{22}{7}   \times 100 \\

or

Area  =  \frac{1}{3}  \times  \frac{11}{7}   \times 100 \\

or

Area  =  \frac{1100}{21} \: cm^2  \\

Because it is an improper fraction, so divide to convert into mixed fraction.

21 \: )1100 \: (52 \\ 105 \\  -  -  -  -  -  \\ 50 \\ 42 \\  -  -  -  -  -  \\ 8 \\  -  -  -  -  -

So,

 \frac{1100}{21}  = 52  \frac{8}{21} \\ \:

Thus,

Area of sector is  \bf 52  \frac{8}{21}  \:cm^2

Option (b) is correct.
