Answer:

The area of the triangle is 56 sq cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given - A parallelogram(ABCD) and a triangle(ABC) on the same base BC.

To find - Area of Δ ABC

Solution -

1) We know that,

When a parallelogram and a triangle are on the same base  and between the same parallel lines then the area of the triangle is half the area of the parallelogram.

2) So,

ar. of triangle ABC = 1/2 * ar. of the parallelogram ABCD

3) ar. of (Δ ABC) = 1/2 * 112 cm²

 ⇒ ar. of (ΔABC)  = 56 cm²
