Area of shaded portion =

In AFE

Area of AFE = ½×b×h

 \frac{1}{2}  \times 10 \times 6 \\  = 30cm {}^{2}

In BCE

Area of BCE=½×b×h

 \frac{1}{2}  \times 8 \times 10 \\  = 40cm {}^{2}

Add area of both triangles = 30cm²+40cm²=70cm²

Area of rectangle = l×b

18 \times 10 \\  = 180cm {}^{2}

If we subtract area of both triangles form area of rectangle

then

we find , area of shaded portion

Now,

180cm²- 70cm²

= 110cm²
