Given :-

  • Area of trapezium is 384 sq.m . Sum of its parallel sides is 48m

To find :-

  • Distance between of parallel sides

Solution :-

  • Area of trapezium = 384 m²

  • Sum of parallel sides = 48 m

As we know that

→ Area of trapezium = ½ × (a + b) × h

Where (a + b) is the sum of parallel sides and " h " is the height or distance between parallel sides

According to question

→ Area of trapezium = 384

→ ½ × (a + b) × h = 384

→ ½ × 48 × h = 384

→ 24 × h = 384

→ h = 384/24

→ h = 16 m

Hence,

  • Distance between parallel sides is 16 m

Verification :-

  • Area of trapezium = 384

→ ½ × (a + b) × h = 384

→ ½ × 48 × 16 = 384

→ 24 × 16 = 384

→ 384 = 384

  • Hence, verified

Answer:

let the parallel sides be 3x and 5x

area of trapezium = h/2 (sum of parallel sides)=384cm square

=12/2 ×(3x + 5x )=384

= 6 × 8x = 384

=48x =384

= x = 384/48

= x=8

So, 3x = 3×8=24cm

and,5x = 5×8=40cm
