Solution

Given :-

  • Area of trapezium is 480cm square.
  • Length of one of the parallel sides is 24 cm and the distance between the parallel sides is 8 cm.

To Find :-

  • The length of the other parallel side.

Step-by-Step-Explaination :-

Let the other parallel side of trapezium be x

So,

As we know that :-

Area of trapezium = \frac{1}{2} \times ( a + b ) \times h

But, here area of trapezium = 480  {cm}^{2}

Therefore,

 480 =\frac{1}{2} \times ( a + b ) \times 8

 480 = ( 24 + x )  \times 8

 480 = 96 + 4x

 480 - 96 + 4x

 4x = 384

 x = \frac{384}{4}

 x = 96

Hence,

96 cm is the other side of trapezium.
