Let the other parallel side of trapezium be x

So,

As we know that :-

Area of trapezium = $\frac{1}{2} \times ( a + b ) \times h$

But, here area of trapezium = 480 ${cm}^{2}$

Therefore,

$480 =\frac{1}{2} \times ( a + b ) \times 8$

$480 = ( 24 + x ) \times 8$

$480 = 96 + 4x$

$480 - 96 + 4x$

$4x = 384$

$x = \frac{384}{4}$

$x = 96$

Hence,

96 cm is the other side of trapezium.
