let the other side be x
area=1/2*(sum of parallel side)*ht
480=1/2*(24+x)*8
480/8=1/2*(24+x)
60=24+x/2
60/2=24+x
30=24+x
x=30-24
therefore,
x=6

<b><i>Given,

Area of the trapezium = 480 cm²

Length of its one parallel side = 24 cm

Distance between them (h) = 8 cm

Let its other parallel side be x cm.

•°• Area of trapezium = ½ (sum of parallel sides) × h

\implies480 = ½ (24 + x) × 8

\implies480 = 4 (24 + x)

\implies480 = 96 + 4x

\implies480 - 96 = 4x

\implies384 = 4x

\impliesx = 384/4

\impliesx = 96 cm
