Answer:

12 cm & 16 cm for the smaller

& bigger sides respectively

Step-by-step explanation:

TAKE the trapezium as ABCD.......

ar(ABCD)=56cm^2;

Let AB be x

then, CD=x+4 cm;

Area of trapezium=

(a + b) \div 2 \times h

thus,

56 cm^2=(x+x+4cm)/2*4cm

56 cm^2=(x+x+4cm)*2cm

56 cm^2=4x cm + 8cm^2

4x cm= 48 cm^2

x = (48 cm^2)/4 cm= 12 cm

Also,,

CD= x+ 4cm= 16cm
