1/2×[sum of parallel sides]×height=area
Distance between parable sides is height
1/2×40+60×h=960
h=960×2÷100
h=19.2cm

Answer :

The distance between the parallel side = 19.2cm

Step-by-step explanation :

Let the distance between the parallel side of trapezium be h.

We know that ;

Area of trapezium = 1/2 * sum of || sides * h

According to the question ;

⇒ 1 / 2 * ( 40 + 60 ) * h = 960 cm²

⇒ 100 / 2 * h = 960

⇒ 50 h = 960

⇒ h = 960 / 50

⇒ h = 19.2 cm

Hence, The distance between the parallel side = 19.2cm
