Where, v = velocity

t = time and d = distance

It means that area under v×t graph gives distance.

It's because either the graph will be in square or triangle. Circle is not impossible in time and velocity graph.

So in both triangle and rectangle area formula we multiply with one base and one side. But only in triangle we add "1/2"

Area of rectangle -- v×t

Are of triangle -- 1/2 × v × t

One thing to note here is that area under v vs t graph gives distance not displacement. As displacement is not equal to v×t .
